The life of Lisa Osteen Comes has been filled with turning points: Overcoming a childhood disability, low self-esteem as a girl, a divorce from a man she loved, surviving a mail-bomb explosion and then infertility. I was so young, in my early 20s and so in love, and then I got divorce papers in the mail. The self-esteem and rejection and embarrassment … it was not what I expected. After my divorce, I hid in the house for six weeks. A good minister and friend came to me and told me that I would get through it.

God miraculously protected her and she escaped with minor injuries. Injured at birth, Lisa developed a condition similar to cerebral palsy which doctors said would cripple her and cause her early death. But as her parents prayed for her, God miraculously healed Lisa before her first birthday.
